@KDenkWrites Hi Katherine, we are very sorry to hear you’ve not yet been paid by VICE. As a union we can only represent the interests of staff members but we will continue to raise the issue of late payments with senior leadership and we stand in solidarity with all VICE freelancers.
After putting sufficient pressure on @VICEUK we are pleased to announce that they have increased their redundancy offer and as a result our chapel have voted to call off the strike planned for later this week. This is a great example of what a unionised workforce can achieve!
🚨 Journalists at @VICEUK call off strike following #NUJ pressure.
The company has increased its redundancy package for affected staff.

We are less than $5,000 away from our $25,000 goal to help our VICE Union members in need!
As a reminder, our laid-off colleagues have not been paid a single dollar of the severance they are owed by VICE. Thank you so much for your continued support. https://t.co/6BEY8HaoaF
NUJ members at Vice UK will carry out a 48-hour strike on 29 and 30 June in protest at the company's proposed redundancy terms for 23 staff.
Press Gazette wrote about the strike threat at the troubled youth media outlet earlier this month:

Last week our chapel members voted in favour of strike action in protest of the current redundancy terms offered by @VICEUK. Strike action is due to take place on the 29th and 30th of this month.
📢Journalists at @VICEUK will strike on 29 and 30 June following the company's failure to provide fair redundancy terms. Journalists deserve better than the offer on the table, and the union is urging the company to rethink its position.

#NUJ says journalists at VICE UK are facing statutory redundancy terms, with many having to leave with almost nothing, since the company filed for bankruptcy and sought a buyer. All despite recent global CEO Nancy Dubuc on a $1.5m annual salary.

The @NUJofficial have today put out a statement on the current situation regarding our collective redundancy consultations with @VICEUK We as a union will continue to do everything in our power to fight for the fair treatment of our members. https://t.co/nD6pYp3AaK
The boom and bust management model for online content needs to be consigned to the annals of history. Thinking of all the staff inc. @viceunion + @VICEUKUNION either side of the pond who are working day-to-day while the sword of Damocles hangs over their livelihoods.
So Nancy Dubuc gets hired to try to sell VICE. Gets paid $1.5 M annually for five years. Peaces out. VICE goes bankrupt. Where is the accountability? Why are journalists getting laid off and CEOs getting off scot free? https://t.co/cf8p2GkDWF
VICE Union is devastated by today's mass layoffs affecting dozens of unit members and around 100 employees overall. These workers are suffering the consequences of years of poor decisions they played no part in.
Heartbroken over the losses at VICE today. These journalists have done incredible, groundbreaking work. The @VICEUKUNION will do everything possible to support them.
VICE UK Union stands with our brilliant colleagues affected by today's layoffs across the entire company. We will be working with the @NUJofficial at every step to reduce the potential redundancies in the UK and make sure that those affected receive the best possible outcome.
Tomorrow, the most important strike for a generation is taking place across the country.
Here’s the @IWGBunion’s Chango Lopez explaining why it - and the Tory assault on the right to strike - matters 👇👇
