Also worth noting: DR will only have 1 actual ending. We have 3 timelines(WR, default, abandoned WR) but only 1 ending. Also, Dess is the catalyst that sets the events of DR into motion.

If Beethoven doesn't exist, and he doesn't take his place, he now has sheet music written by someone who never existed - thus a paradox

Just like how a lot of information about Flowey and Chara is locked behind geno route in UT, Deltarune's WR shows how the Knight originally came to be
Whereas the main route ends with you defeating the Knight and breaking the cycle

But yeah. With DR only having 1 actual ending, the only logical way for the weird route to have a resolution is for it to be a time loop of some kind.

Ch.5's WR also shows that, despite how much the player years to control the narrative(even to the point of breaking the game), that control can just as easily be taken away from you.
