Honestly I think that is the only difference although back when discussing rankings originally I believe MaxPreps had a cap(in basketball). So like winning by 30 or 100 was no difference

Our Raider team placed 2nd overall at the Area 9 District Raider Championship against teams from Hillsborough, Pasco and Pinellas counties and qualified for the State Raider meet at USF on December 2.
