FMG Protest 2026 — Who is actually winning?
An extra 3rd FMGE exam in Oct–Nov 2026.
No clarity on releasing the question paper and answer key — zero accountability and transparency.
So who benefits?
Directly: NBE will earn ₹20 crore+ from extra exam fees.
Indirectly: Coaching institutes will benefit from extra batches.
And who will continue to suffer?
Students!
Those who were peacefully preparing for Jan 2027 will now rush for the Oct/Nov 2026 attempt and try to complete the syllabus early, resulting in poor revision. After this attempt, they will also have less time for the January attempt. So, more students may end up trapped in the same loop.
This is the first kind of protest where those who were protesting got nothing, but NBEMS got a bonus—extra ₹20 cr+ new revenue model.
A meeting of representative of the AIMSA-FMSW was held with the Officials of National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences, New Delhi to discuss the issues faced by foreign medical graduate in FMGE June 2026. Some points agreed to in the meeting are:

2. The difficulty level of the question paper has been rationalised by increasing a greater number of questions with low/moderate difficulty. Low: Moderate: Difficult questions shall be in proportion of 30:50:20.
3. The Examination Fee shall be reduced from the very next examination.
4. NBEMS agrees to publish the question IDs, correct answer IDs and response IDs marked, along with the marks awarded to each question on the applicant portal of each candidate.
5. NBEMS shall declare the number of video-based questions to be 14 only in FMGE June 2026 before the court of law in an ongoing matter before the High Court of Delhi.
The All India Medical Student Association (AIMSA), Foreign Medical Student Wing, has called off its protest following the announcement of several candidate-friendly measures relating to the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE).
NBEMS remains committed to addressing the genuine concerns of FMGs. As one of the measures announced today, NBEMS shall conduct an additional FMGE by the end of October 2026, providing an early opportunity to eligible candidates.

The Chennai protest isn't endorsed by CJP 👇. That alone should tell people this is something else entirely. @Shanmugamcpim , if your concern is truly for students and not political theatre, you'll know what to do about this protest happening in your premises.
it is an unwritten rule of life that after every prolonged period of hardship and uncertainty, there is going to be a period when you are going to achieve quantum leaps across multiple areas of your life. the only requirement is that you do not give up on yourself.
