It gives me great pleasure to share the news that MithilaStack, our IT initiative, started to create IT jobs and support the growing IT ecosystem in Bihar/Mithila has opened a small office in Patna now. We are looking to build a sales team, a global B2B lead generation team, ITES team and a tech team capable of working on AI-based solutions (Agentic AI) and some #DeepTech R&D projects.

Not a single National Highway passes through the entire red marked region in Central North Bihar or the Core Mithila.
Sitamarhi, Supaul, Saharsa, Begusarai, Khagaria has no direct NH connectivity with Darbhanga, as shown by the pink arrows.

1️⃣ Darbhanga has no NH link with these district HQs:

🔸Sitamarhi

🔸Supaul

🔸Saharsa

🔸Begusarai

🔸Khagaria

2️⃣ The entire red-circled belt is left out of the National Highway network, despite being centrally located between major districts and having important religious & economic sites.

Practical Solutions

1. Develop a Greenfield Expressway Corridor

A dedicated expressway should be built connecting these major locations:

Punaura Dham

Ahilya Sthan

Darbhanga Airport

Benipur

Biraul

Baba Kushwaha Sthan

Ending at Khagaria District HQ

This corridor will provide:

🔹Direct NH standard connectivity

🔹Boost in religious tourism

🔹Faster access to Darbhanga Airport

A new east–west mobility spine in North Bihar

2. Upgrade Rosera National Highway (Under Construction)

Rosera–Darbhanga NH under construction should be made 4 lane.

It should be extended up to Begusarai, closing a major connectivity gap between Darbhanga & Begusarai.

3. Supaul–Darbhanga Connection (Already Announced)

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has already announced a new NH project:

Starts from Bairiya Manch

A new Kosi bridge will be built

Route will pass through Madhepur (Madhubani)

Connects Supaul HQ → Darbhanga HQ

Demand:
The DPR should be prepared quickly and work should start at a fast pace.

4. Upgrade Saharsa–Darbhanga Route to 4-Lane NH

The current link is via:

State Highway & MDR Road

This entire stretch should be upgraded to a 4-lane National Highway, ensuring safe and fast travel between the two district HQs.

This centrally located region of Bihar has been completely bypassed by National Highways, impacting travel, development, tourism, logistics, and airport access.
With the proposed expressway corridor, NH upgrades, and new Kosi bridge project, Darbhanga can be connected to all neighbouring HQs for the first time in history.

Dear Darbhanga Police ,

Today in Darbhanga, I had a very disappointing experience.

A journey of barely 3 kilometers took nearly 3 hours to complete. Thousands of people are helplessly stuck in traffic for hours. Many passengers, including myself, have purchased emergency flight tickets worth ₹30,000–₹40,000, yet are being forced to walk several kilometers carrying luggage just to reach the airport.

The most concerning part is that on the entire route to Darbhanga Airport, not a single Bihar Police personnel was visible for traffic management. At Zero Mile, people remain stranded in massive traffic jams for hours without any effective regulation.

Such situations not only cause inconvenience to travelers but also damage the image of Darbhanga and Bihar. It is unfortunate that traffic leading to a relatively small airport cannot be managed properly.

I request the district administration and traffic police to take immediate corrective measures and ensure smooth movement for passengers, especially those traveling to and from Darbhanga Airport.

लगभग रोज दरभंगा जंक्शन से समय पर खुलने वाली 02569 DBG NDLS स्पेशल को रास्ते में घंटों लेट कर दिया जाता है।

आज भी ट्रेन दरभंगा से लगभग समय पर रवाना हुई, लेकिन समस्तीपुर, मुजफ्फरपुर के बाद देरी लगातार बढ़ती गई और गोरखपुर पार करते-करते ट्रेन लगभग 6 घंटे लेट हो गई, तो दिल्ली कब पहुचेगी, क्या आपलोगो ने रोजाना इस ट्रेन में यात्रियो को प्रताड़ित करने का ठेका ले रखा है? @RailwayNorthern @ECRlyHJP

जब ट्रेन दरभंगा से समय पर खुलती है तो फिर रोज़ाना रास्ते में इतनी भारी देरी क्यों?

क्या रेलवे के पास इस महत्वपूर्ण दिल्ली रूट की समय पालन सुधारने की कोई योजना है?

दरभंगा, समस्तीपुर, मुजफ्फरपुर और मिथिला क्षेत्र के हजारों यात्री रोज़ इस ट्रेन पर निर्भर हैं। समय पर प्रस्थान के बावजूद 5–6 घंटे की देरी सामान्य है इस गाड़ी के लिए?

Unfortunately, In this video, most of the historical sites, temples, and tourist attractions showcased in Darbhanga were originally built and preserved by the Darbhanga Raj family. Even today, many of these heritage structures continue to survive because of that legacy.

Landmarks such as Maa Shyama Temple, Maa Tara Temple, Darbhanga Fort, Nargona Palace, the royal campus, and several other heritage sites are part of Darbhanga’s rich cultural history. The recent restoration and redevelopment of Maa Tara Temple was also undertaken by the royal family.

despite possessing such a rich historical and cultural heritage with immense tourism potential, the Bihar Tourism Department has contributed little towards the preservation, development, and promotion of these sites.

Today, foreign travelers and content creators are helping bring global attention to Darbhanga’s heritage, while government-level tourism support and branding still remain far below what this region truly deserves.

Absolutely, I was in Gauhati a week ago and it felt surreal to see signboards using the native Ahomiya script, which was heavily influenced by Tirhuta due to the intellectual exchange and scholarship traditions of Mithila.

I felt more at home in Gauhati than in the Devanagari-influenced contemporary Mithila.

We must undertake this mission to rejuvenate the Tirhuta script across all walks of social life and encourage the youth to become familiar with and adopt our cultural heritage before it dies out after waiting forever.

Mithila must be elevated to its erstwhile glory and establish itself as the center of knowledge and traditions. It ain’t gonna happen unless we embrace this wholeheartedly without an iota of doubt.
