Out of curiosity, I opened the HDFC card application page.
Earlier, while I was holding the Tata Neu card, HDFC wouldn't even let me start a fresh card application.
Today, within 24 hours of the closure, I can not only start a fresh application but also see multiple card options.
(Not applying for any of them.)
I always heard you need to wait 3 months after closing an HDFC card.
At least from what I'm seeing, the eligibility page seems to refresh almost instantly after the card is closed.
Interesting. 🤔
Got IndusInd CRED RuPay Credit Card (LTF)! 🎉
Applied through CRED, completed VKYC, and the card was approved within 30 minutes with a ₹4.5L credit limit. The entire process was smooth.
Initial Review 👇
✅ Flat 5% Rewards on almost all online merchants
Just earn 5 CRED Points per ₹100 (up to 5,000 accelerated points per statement cycle).
💳 Best use case: Buy Gift Cards/Vouchers through CRED
This is where the card shines.
You get:
• CRED Instant Discount on the voucher
• PLUS 5% rewards from the card
Total savings usually become 5-10%, and sometimes even 15-20% depending on the voucher.
Many cards exclude Gift Cards from rewards, but this one doesn't, making it a great option.
🍅 Extra Swiggy/Instmart Benefit
These platforms often provide a monthly coupon giving around 10-20% instant discount once a month. Combined with card rewards, the value becomes even better.
🎁 Reward Redemption (up to 70%)
1 CRED Point =✅ ₹1 for:
• Flights
• Hotels
• CRED Store
• Select CRED Pay merchants
₹0.50 only if redeemed for bill payment/statement credit.
Reward Structure
⭐ 5 Points / ₹100
• E-commerce
• CRED Pay
• CRED Store
• CRED Travel
• CRED UPI (in-app)
⭐ 1 Point / ₹100
• Other domestic spends
• International spends

• UPI Scan & Pay (separate monthly cap of 500)
Exclusions-
No rewards on:
• Rent
• Fuel
• Wallet loads

Overall, for someone already using CRED and purchasing vouchers regularly, this looks like one of the great option.
Now waiting to see how consistently the rewards post over the next statement. 🤞

Update : Finally got the fare difference
It wasn’t as simple as I expected it to be.
It took me almost 55–60 minutes and multiple calls with Amazon Customer Care to finally get clarity.
When I first called, the executive checked the details and told me that everything matched - same product, same seller, same colour and that I was eligible for the entire ₹2,650 difference.
The only catch?
He said his shift was ending at 7 PM and that he had already exhausted the Amazon Pay balance he could issue that day. He asked me to call back, saying the next executive would be able to process it.
Sounded like a slightly weird excuse, but honestly, we don’t know their internal policies, so I called back.
And that’s when the story changed.
The next executive told me:
Amazon doesn’t do order-to-order price matching. They only do product-to-product price matching. So, what does that mean?
The product was earlier ₹16,300 and was now ₹16,800. Under their interpretation, I would get only the ₹500 product price difference.
But the ₹2,650 Amazon coupon/discount that I had received during the original sale would not be considered.
I challenged this and asked to speak to a senior. After another few minutes, Debasish, who I believe was the senior executive, went through the entire trail, including the previous interaction, recordings and the email that had been sent to me.
Eventually, he approved the full ₹2,650 refund. But he also clearly explained that as per Amazon’s policy, the standard process is product-to-product price matching.
This particular exception was being given because there had been a miscommunication from their end.
And honestly, that’s the biggest takeaway for me. If you’re ever dealing with price adjustments, refunds, price matching or any similar offer, get absolute clarity on what exactly is being matched.
Is it:
Product-to-product?
or
Order-to-order?
Because the difference can be significant.
In my case, that one distinction was worth ₹2,650.
