FSD 14.3.7 seems to slow for school zones but does not obey the school zone speed posted. The speed limit is 15 mph when the light is flashing however the car continues at 25 mph. I am in the hurry profile but that should not be a reason for it to go faster especially in a school zone! Is anyone experiencing the same thing in school zones? @SawyerMerritt@ChuckCook@DirtyTesLa
Enjoy this funny little story I came up with!!
Delivery day in Austin
I was standing in the delivery bay at the Giga texas center last Saturday when a man in his late 50s walked in holding a printed checklist that looked longer than the vehicle purchase agreement.
He had color-coded tabs.
The delivery specialist, a young woman named Jasmine, smiled the professional smile they all learn in the first week and said, “Welcome. Ready to meet your Model Y?”
The man held up one finger.
“Before we start, I need to confirm the exact software version currently loaded, the number of miles on the odometer at the moment of transfer, and whether the cabin camera has been calibrated after the last over-the-air.”
Jasmine blinked once. “Of course.”
What followed was the most thorough delivery I have ever witnessed. He checked the panel gaps with a credit card. He tested every seat motor twice. He opened and closed the frunk four times while listening for a specific click. When the car finally unlocked with the phone key, he stood there for a full twenty seconds just staring at the screen like it might vanish.
At one point Jasmine quietly asked me, “Is this normal?”
I told her, “For some of us, this is the wedding.”
Near the end he sat in the driver’s seat, placed both hands on the wheel, and whispered something I wasn’t supposed to hear:
“Please don’t be weird on the highway.”
He drove away twenty minutes later with the windows down and the cabin camera pointed at his face the entire time, as if the car itself needed to remember this moment.
I watched the car disappear into traffic and thought: some people buy a vehicle.
Others adopt a very expensive, slightly judgmental roommate that happens to have four wheels.
This is such an interesting product, I wonder how it will handle really dirty cars. Will it just remove all the dirt and grime like in the video or will you have to make multiple hard passes over it?
It’s still crazy that Tesla filed for a $10.1 billion solar cell factory in Fort Bend County, Texas. It’s Codename is Project Crystal Sun.
It’s gonna bring about 9,700 permanent jobs to the area. The target production is for Q1 2029.
This would be one of Tesla’s largest single manufacturing investments ever. It still needs tax incentives to move forward, but nonetheless it’s still exciting!!
