@JasonMaloneStan@F1zzyyypoppyyy@cavaIeras@milomeowlaxy People will really just spout the dumbest hyper-niche references to something only they and their political circlejerk polycule of 5 other dudes know and get mad when normal people don't get it.
@Keidoyume@kip_twt@MourningScholar God forbid the sequel build on the ideas and themes presented by the first game instead of being mostly unrelated and without anything new to present.
@Keidoyume@kip_twt@MourningScholar I was looking for a good game with a story that explored the conflicts of a setting that had grown past the infected conflict. What I got was a mid to ok game that has no real idea what the core conflict should be beyond the bland mysterious evil force of nature rock monsters.
@kip_twt@MourningScholar I gave it a honestly try, but man. The narrative is in a rougher state than OG Arknights first few chapters despite being longer. It just lacks sauce, straight up, and the gameplay just isn't good enough to compensate for that.
@kip_twt@MourningScholar The issue is that EF at the moment doesn't really offer any satisfying substitute, tbh. Being different is fine, but if you're different but less interesting people are going to ask why you didn't do the interesting stuff you already did, even if that's not the goal.
@AnAustralianPe1@frdspa06@norino_va My guess is they intentionally announced it all at the same time as an attempt to get some kind of momentum going because companies routinely misread the room on AI. Sweeney is definitely enough of a dipshit to think it would have been popular.
@McQueenium@fshpsmgc@catgirlprostate You can however trade via emulator nowadays, amusingly enough. Even over to real hardware, if you jump through the hoops needed.
@mousquitwo@loljordenlol@faleuxe It's not that hard, the alonne knights go down in two hits and you can aggro them one at a time pretty easily if you actually lower the bridge. Takes maybe 30ish seconds to clear that area. Plus the smelter demon isn't particularly hard.
@Tony_Omega@criticcatdotcom I think having that much scenery with that much detail in places that would be entirely non-visible to the player basically throughout the whole game does suggest that there was some expanded area cut. It doesn't really have any reason to exist otherwise.
@criticcatdotcom@Tony_Omega I think it might be the opposite, its a leftover from when the game was significantly bigger and more open. It makes much more sense as a mechanic in the context of a more open to explore map.
@dontaripoefan2@theWyzmeister@Ashe1133158 Dawg TF2 was actively supported with major updates for literally a decade, CSGO for a bit over a decade. I get you're salty about CS2, I think that was poorly handled as well, but you can't say that TF2 and CSGO are proof that they won't support it.
@Aldrend1@Toranagii Also shootouts to Might and Magic 4 and 5 which lets you load both games at once and switch between each game with your party without quitting out. In universe each game takes part on one side of a flat planet, and you can use structures to swap between each side while playing.
@Aldrend1@Toranagii You cant just mention Ultima and not bring up Might and Magic. 🥹 It even has the first three games ported to various consoles which let's you avoid the most awkward "early DOS RPG controls" bits.
Wizardry is good too, but that's more a dungeon crawler than a RPG.
