I am delighted to say that my dissertation (now book project📚) has received an Honorable Mention in the Law and Society Dissertation Award Competition. The dissertation asks how criminal justice reformers engage with expert knowledge as they design and fight for reforms.
BOTCHED the committee thank you tweet with a misdirected @, so here's round 2. I had a wonderful group of scholars mentoring me and pushing me through this process: @MichelleSPhelps is on this website (check out her new book!), and Josh Page, Joe Soss, Teresa Gowan.
I show how the conflicts and contradictions endemic to contemporary criminal justice help to reshape knowledge, both enabling and curbing reforms. Check out the other winners this year (it's an exciting crop!): https://t.co/K3mdRjsZjd
Honestly, this book has insights for anyone studying contemporary politics. Dr. Sajjanhar's work has helped me think about the making of elite policy discourse in a totally different way. Plus this is one the best academic book covers I've ever seen.

Help us build support for the resolution and demand that ASA include the point on financial disclosure and military investments.
Ceasefire now! @Soc4Pal
UPDATE: In response to the ASA statement failing to call for ceasefire we drafted a "Resolution for Justice in Palestine" that we hope all ASA members will be able to vote on this spring.
Yesterday we submitted a petition to get it on the ballot with 581 names /
