@puckandrally Chicago does have at least seven professional sports team, it's just that no sport is dominant enough in the US to have enough support for more than 2-3 teams, tops, in one metro area.

@tuuu28283 We don’t, really. The two terms are interchangeable when talking about the United States of America. We don’t think of anyone else from the Americas as an “American”, but rather as a Canadian, Brazilian, Jamaican etc.
@fancy_disgrace@axelsoiv@honigmaydl Well, it’s essentially uncharted wilderness. Most of that country isn’t really usable by humans. That’s why it took three tries for people to actually settle there permanently.
@garcon_com70968 Yeah, it's a pretty common, and easily understandable, shorthand when collectively talking about North, Central, and South America. I don't know who could find that confusing.
