RACISM: Some commenters have suggested that posting the video with the comment "England might be in trouble..." was racist. First, I am the same race as the majority of the people in the video - white. The U.S. Census Bureau's definition of "White" includes "a person having origins in any of the original peoples of Europe, the Middle East, or North Africa."
It is important to remember that most Muslim-majority nations incorporate Islam into their state structures. While there are exceptions like Albania and Indonesia, most incorporate Sharia, or Islamic law into their governance.
Sharia Law and English Common Law are rooted in fundamentally different philosophies, principles, and sources of law, which makes their coexistence in a single legal system challenging. English Common Law is essentially a secular legal system, evolving from centuries of judicial precedents and interpretation, and modified legislatively over time as societal norms and values change. It fundamentally values the principles of equality and individual rights, irrespective of one's religious beliefs. Conversely, Sharia Law is inherently religious, drawn primarily from religious texts like the Quran and Hadiths, and it is based on the theological, ethical, and moral principles of Islam, which might not always align with the secular and egalitarian principles emphasized in English Common Law. Differences are particularly noticeable in areas such as family law, inheritance law, and the rights of non-Muslims, where the interpretations of Sharia can conflict with the principles of gender equality and religious freedom enshrined in many common law jurisdictions. These fundamental divergences suggest a significant degree of incompatibility between these two legal systems.
At the end of the day, it seems as though the UK is dividing into various tribes. Tribalism, in the sociopolitical sense, refers to a way of thinking or behaving where people are loyal to their social group above all else. While it can foster a sense of community and belonging, it also has a dangerous potential to engender deep divisions and conflicts. In its extreme forms, tribalism can dehumanize others and engender an "us-versus-them" mentality, where those outside the tribal group are seen as enemies, outsiders, or even threats to the tribe's existence. This mindset can lead to prejudice, discrimination, and hostility, which, if unchecked, can escalate into violence and conflict.
History provides several grim examples of how tribalism can lead to genocide. The Holocaust, the Rwandan Genocide, and the Bosnian Genocide were all fueled in part by extreme tribalistic sentiments. In these cases, a dominant group, convinced of its own superiority and the threat posed by a marginalized group, used propaganda, dehumanization, and eventually violence to eliminate the perceived threat.
Moreover, tribalism tends to foster an environment where critical thinking and empathy towards "out-groups" are suppressed. It can lead to groupthink, where people prioritize conformity and unanimity over rational decision-making, and suppress dissenting viewpoints. It can also feed into cycles of revenge and retaliation, where violence by one tribe leads to counter-violence by another, leading to prolonged conflicts.
In the contemporary world, where societies are more multicultural and interconnected than ever, it's crucial to recognize and challenge tribalistic tendencies. While it's natural for people to identify with specific groups, it's essential to foster a sense of shared humanity and mutual respect that transcends tribal boundaries to prevent divisions from escalating into violence and potential genocide.
Comedian Dave Smith shocks Joe Rogan with his view about NATO expansion, the 2014 Ukraine coup, and how American policies led to the War in Ukraine, bringing the world closer to a potential nuclear World War III.....
@DanicaPatrick@skyf1 Super to see you back again on our coverage Danica as you've got the racing experience. Your blue and white blouse (if that's what it is🤷🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️) is very fetching and suits you well btw. 👍🏻
@karenalainehunt@OffGuardian0 I don't know the context of the 1 in 3 statement but in the UK it's 1 in 2. Big pharma can prolong life as I've witnessed, but I maintain my opinion that there's too much profit considered and "slow bleeding" before an actual cure would even be mentioned at corporate levels.
