Odisha’s mangroves are more than ecosystems, they are living shields that protect our coastline, support livelihoods, and sustain rare wildlife. From Bhitarkanika to the Mahanadi delta, continuous efforts are being taken to strengthen mangrove cover through plantations, community participation, and scientific monitoring.
On July 26, International Mangrove Day, we reaffirm our commitment to conserve and expand these critical habitats, ensuring a resilient coast and a greener future for Odisha 🌱

Extremely disappointed with mainstream media & top Indian newspapers on lack of Hockey coverage. Hockey World Cup starts tomorrow. India is hosting it. Been barely any articles even on our own players. We have brilliant hockey journalists. Give them some space please!!!
Every other month, someone writes a variant of this nonsensical “gotcha” tweet about how many holidays Indian judges get, and it goes dutifully viral.
You can criticise judges for many things. Their work ethic isn’t one of them.
A week back Tejaswin Shankar was practising in front of 3 dogs at JLN Stadium, after not being named to the CWG squad despite meeting the AFI QF standard. Included at the last minute after taking the fed to court, today in front of 30000, he wins a high jump bronze in Birmingham.
Happy world snake day 2022!
Snakes are fascinating animals that are often misunderstood due to the fear and myths surrounding them. Here are some beautiful snakes that our lab members encountered in the wild during field work.

Our MPs need to watch ORDERLY MANNER in which PM BoJo roasted in UK Parliament. PM present & responds - even if unconvincingly - to EACH accusation. MP asked to withdraw allegations, refuses, & is chucked out by Spkr. Many lessons here. @loksabhaspeaker.
Rafa always shows us what Sport is all about. Respect for his opponent and the game, incredible fight till the end, and humility irrespective of his achievements. Legend
So many decades diehard hockey fans waited for this moment. Thinks of those few who remained loyal to the game despite the setbacks. Whatever happens next, Indian hockey is back. Congratulations @16Sreejesh & the fittest & the most fearless Indian team since 1975..
