Marikamba Mata is a powerful form of Goddess Durga, worshipped as the fierce protector and mother goddess of the people of Karnataka, especially in the town of Sirsi. For centuries, Marikamba Mata has been a central spiritual force in coastal and Malnad Karnataka. The Sirsi Marikamba Temple, built in 1688, is considered one of the most powerful Shakti shrines in the state, where devotees gather to seek courage, protection, and blessings. Her devotion reaches its peak during the famous Marikamba Jatre, a grand festival held once every two years that draws millions of devotees who come to witness her divine presence and celebrate the enduring power of the Mother Goddess.
