DNA damage checkpoint and human disease group - Research Unit HUC Tenerife.
Apart from enjoying the beach, we also study how PTMs control genome stability.
Our latest publication by @Jessel_ap is out in @CellReports. We show that DNA damage in late mitosis triggers an ATM-dependent increase in RNF126 and BRAP, which promote cell survival under these conditions. With help from @RFreireLab.

During the #SCIC25 of @agenciaiisi, we welcomed a group of high school students to our lab. They got a close look at molecular and cellular biology and discovered how to pursue a career in science 🔬🧫👨🔬

Thanks to Yvette Ogiemwanre for spending her Biomedical Research in Practice @erasmusuni internship in our lab.
It was a pleasure having you on the team!
Happy to share our latest publication by @YerayHdezReyes and @CintiaFonRod in @JMolBiol, highlighting two RNA helicases, DDX37 and DDX50, that ensure genome stability by preventing transcription-dependent R-loop formation.
