Does VT renew Szefc this summer heading into the final year of his contract?

John Szefc has coached eight full seasons (throwing 2020 COVID shortened year out), and has taken @HokiesBaseball to the postseason twice.

He's posted an ACC record above .500 just once. Overall, he's 34 games below .500 in league play.

Much has been made that VT is going to get him more full scholarships next year (22, up from 16). We’re going to need to
see VT build on this postseason appearance, or move off Szefc.

Pitching staff was one of the worst in P4, even with Brett Renfrow’s excellence. Fourth-worst ERA in P4, 223rd overall. And that was with a new, highly-regarded, hire leading the staff.

Need to put a full season together at some point. That magical 2022 season is doing a lot of heavy lifting on Szefc’s resume.
