Currently happening: 2026 Climate Justice Masterclass for Journalists 🌍📰
Today, Amnesty International Zimbabwe has brought together 30 media practitioners and students for a full-day Climate Justice Masterclass in Harare.
The Masterclass provides an opportunity to strengthen the capacity of journalists and emerging media practitioners to report on climate change through a human rights and justice lens —bringing the voices, experiences, and rights of communities affected by the climate crisis to the centre of the story.
From climate policies and accountability to the human impact of environmental change, participants are exploring how powerful, evidence-based journalism can help amplify climate justice conversations.
The masterclass will also provide a platform for journalists, climate justice advocates and human rights practitioners to exchange knowledge, identify emerging issues and explore opportunities for sustained media engagement.
An informed, independent and engaged media can help turn climate change from a technical or environmental story into a human rights and accountability issue—amplifying affected voices, challenging harmful policies and practices, and supporting collective action for a just and sustainable future.
Stay tuned!

@amnesty_zim Well researched.
The same goes for the race for biocomputers, I wonder what would happen when they humans become lb rats because their blood is proving to be effective in producing biocomputer chips
As the demand for generative AI has snowballed, the scale of the development of these technologies has spun out of control.
Complex supply chains are required to power these systems, presenting us with a trail of human rights risks at every step of their production.
These design choices must be challenged.
They are not inevitable.
Tomorrow, leaders from government, civil society, the private sector, development partners, academia and the media gather in Harare for the Integrity & Accountability Summit 2026.

Introducing the 3rd Cohort of the #YouthPowerAction2026 Class.
#InCaseYouMissedIt, it's been a week since we welcomed the third cohort of the 2026 #YouthPowerAction Training Programme — a bold initiative dedicated to nurturing the next generation of human rights leaders in Zimbabwe.
This year’s training brought together three dynamic residential cohorts, uniting passionate young people from all ten provinces of Zimbabwe. Diverse, fearless, creative, and driven, these young leaders came together with a shared commitment to advancing human rights and social justice.
Through #YouthPowerAction, participants are doing far more than learning about human rights. They are amplifying their voices, organising their communities, mobilising for justice, and leading movements that are helping to shape a more equal, inclusive, and courageous future.

After four years full of challenges and hard work, it's time to move on.
I leave with the feeling that the mission is complete. 4 seasons, 3 championships.
I will never forget the love I received from the fans from my very first days.
Catalonia is my place on earth.
Thank you to everyone I met along the way during these beautiful four years.
A special thank you to President Laporta for giving me the chance to live the most incredible chapter of my career.

Transparency International Zimbabwe is hosting a two day Movement Building Masterclass bringing together Accountability Monitoring Committees (AMCs) from Harare, Mutare, Bulawayo, Gwanda, Masvingo and Gweru working on service delivery and anti-corruption at the community level.
The Master Class comes at a time when civic space is tightening, and funding is shrinking, raising a hard question: how can citizen-led anti-corruption movements remain active and relevant?
Key highlights included:
Reflecting on the limits of traditional anti-corruption approaches
Introducing movement building as a strategy for sustained advocacy and long-term accountability
Sessions on social movement building challenged participants to move beyond short-term projects and focus on long-term organising, drawing lessons from successful movements locally, regionally, and globally.
AMCs shared real cases of confronting corruption in health, and education services, the risks they faced, and the outcomes they achieved.

Transparency International Zimbabwe (TI Z) joins Licoco and TI Madagascar in participating in the 2026 Annual High-Level Stakeholders Symposium held alongside the Southern African Development Community Heads of State Summit.
The meeting is being hosted under the theme
“Strengthening Inclusive Regional Integration Through Enhanced People-Centred Partnerships,” the symposium is driving critical discussions on gender, power dynamics, corruption, and debt, while reinforcing the need for meaningful inclusion of Non-State Actors in regional decision-making processes.
Evidence from Zimbabwe, Madagascar, and the Democratic Republic of Congo highlights persistent governance challenges, including informal payments, procurement irregularities, and unequal access to essential services. These trends underscore the need to embed anti-corruption measures within sector policies, particularly in health and education under the RISDP 2020–2030 and AfCFTA frameworks.
The engagement is expected to strengthen regional learning, foster cross-country collaboration, and generate actionable recommendations to advance transparent, accountable, and people-centred development across Southern Africa.
