We're a two-man team of enthusiasts creating a versatile, open source Nintendo Virtual Boy game engine, development tools as well as new games for the system.
A new WIP demo of #FormulaV is out now for Beta Tester and above tier backers, showcasing our progress on the new soundtrack. #VirtualBoy#homebrew#VUEngine https://t.co/nAnPKzT3Gq
VUEngine goes platform-agnostic with each supported platform being a separate plugin. Virtual Boy being the obvious first and only platform supported so far. More platforms might follow in the future. #VUEngine#homebrew#VirtualBoy https://t.co/J4xy39EX87
Recently accomplished tasks: New title screen by @StevenHagelgans, resembling the box art, and finishing the JPN translations, thanks to Kazuo Entertainment and @dudewaytweets. Now we can fully focus on finishing our music editor to get sound on par with the rest of #FormulaV.
We are thrilled to announce that, after some massive recent engine improvements, #VUEngine now supports rendering an unlimited number of wireframe objects at an unlimited render distance. Here's a screenshot. #VirtualBoy#homebrew#wireframe
#VUEngine Studio v0.6.0 is out, accompanied by many engine improvements and an extensive documentation update, including a new beginner's tutorial leading you step-by-step through making a #VirtualBoy game. #homebrew https://t.co/RAEj7zA5cg
Merry Christmas!🎄 We have a little present for our backers on Patreon. Check out the remaster of Walking City in #FormulaV Demo 21! #VirtualBoy#homebrew#VUEngine https://t.co/VinHS36Mkm
VUEngine utilizes its very own C dialect that adds classes, inheritance and polymorphism to standard C with a syntax similar to C++. While working on language support in VUEngine Studio, we now gave it a proper name: Virtual C. 🪄✨ #VirtualBoy#VUEngine#homebrew#VirtualC
We recently did a test print of the #FormulaV manual. Just a rough one on a cheap inkjet printer, but feels great to hold it in hands. It's the size of a CD booklet, which fits perfectly into the box. ✨ #VirtualBoy#homebrew#VUEngine
By the way, the beautiful pixel art portrait used in the post above is the work of @butterymilky and was taken from the following asset pack: https://t.co/67BR9jkHLX
Thanks to new image quantizer in VUEngine Studio 0.5.0, you no longer have to prepare images with the correct palette and such, but can import any PNG file. Also comes with improved build times, a new font editor and more. https://t.co/5zNfXcmWRv #VirtualBoy#homebrew#VUEngine
New test prints of the Formula V box are in, featuring the amazing design by Mumphy. Print quality is pretty good, but some details like the folds are still off, so gotta do at least one more run. #FormulaV#VirtualBoy#homebrew#VUEngine
Formula V WIP Demo 20 is out, exclusively for Beta Tester and higher tier backers, showcasing the Mute Ocean track. #FormulaV#VirtualBoy#homebrew#VUEngine https://t.co/FBXXfe45Nk
The new 0.4.0 version of VUEngine Studio adds a second built-in emulator config that allows you to wirelessly send ROMs to a Nintendo 3DS running @Skyfloogle's Red Viper emu for quick testing. https://t.co/tTkOxV5jXH https://t.co/wVbqefohiB #VirtualBoy#homebrew#VUEngine#3DS
