Τοday the Cyprus Presidency initiated the preparation for the formal opening of Cluster one in the accession negotiations of Ukraine and Moldova.

This marks a significant milestone in their European integration path, and sends a strong message of EU unity and determination.

In the coming days, we will continue working dedicately towards finalizing the discussions in the Council for the formal opening of the cluster.

The Cyprus Presidency, guided by the merit-based approach, is delivering on enlargement, which is a strategic priority and one of the European Union’s most transformative policies.

Important meeting with Mayor Boychenko of @MariupolRada, heroic Ukrainian city now in exile. We discussed the Mariupol Justice Initiative, support for displaced people from Donetsk region, and further cooperation. Russia must be held accountable, and victims fully compensated.

Al terzo piano del Parlamento Ue da oggi troverete una stanza, una “cameretta” che ho voluto fortemente portare a Bruxelles: si tratta del progetto “Empty Beds" e racconta dell'assenza di oltre 20.000 bambini strappati alle loro case, alle loro famiglie e alla loro identità dalla volontà criminale di Putin.

Quello che vedrete in questa installazione non è una raccolta di statistiche. È una testimonianza.
E documenta il rapimento sistematico di bambini ucraini nell'ambito di un programma statale russo: la loro detenzione in oltre 210 strutture e lo sforzo organizzato per cancellare la loro identità: i loro nomi, i loro ricordi, il loro senso di appartenenza.
Non si tratta di danni collaterali di guerra. È un'arma di guerra.
