Students were given the job of designing and building a crayon box that would hold 24 crayons. They had good discussions. About how to improve their design.
As part of our seed exploration, we went outside to look at dandelion seeds. Students noticed how many seeds came from one flower and how they floated in the air. The dandelion seeds are much bigger then traditional tobacco seeds and much smaller than sunflower seeds.

Today students learned when to double the final consonant. We practiced writing some words and then played games to practice reading words following this rule.
Today we learned about Calgary’s past. We built a cabin, visited one of Calgary’s oldest buildings, were visited by a coyote, and learned Indigenous games. Thank you @FortCalgary!
