In March 2025, Elon Musk described Tesla’s future Cybercab production line.
According to him, it would look more like a high-speed consumer electronics factory than a conventional car manufacturing plant.
The line would move so fast that people wouldn’t even be able to get close to it.
Then Musk dropped the number:
less than 5 seconds per car.
That would mean roughly 12 Cybercabs per minute or more than 700 cars per hour.
Sounds crazy?
That’s exactly why this clip is worth watching again now, a year later.
Cybercab has already gone from a concept to production. Now we can see how close Tesla has actually come to the production speed Musk described 17 months ago.

That kind of kill switch can’t just be sitting out on the street. Access would have to be strictly limited. Could the fate of humanity depend on whether AI allows us to flip that switch?
🔴 WHAT IF AI GOES OUT OF CONTROL?
Elon Musk talks about a future in which artificial intelligence could radically transform the information landscape, politics, and the way millions of people form their opinions.
🔹 AI can generate massive amounts of convincing content.

Jones looks at previous technological transformations — electricity, computers, the internet — and asks what history can teach us about the transition ahead.
He explores two radically different futures:
⚡ AI-driven explosive growth — machines eventually perform virtually every cognitive and physical task humans can do, potentially creating unprecedented abundance.
🐢 A much slower transformation — AI becomes incredibly capable, but bottlenecks, institutions, regulation, physical infrastructure, human judgment and other “weak links” keep economic growth moving at a much slower pace.
And then comes the part that may be the most important:
The benefits of AI could take decades to fully materialize… while some of its risks could arrive much sooner.
That creates a strange asymmetry.
We could spend decades waiting for AI to transform productivity while simultaneously facing much faster-moving risks from increasingly powerful systems.

Many startups have begun working on the creation of fully fledged digital human clones.
This is an area of intense research. Meta is trying to build a system that doesn't just replicate a person's voice and manner of speaking, but also recreates their knowledge, memories, preferences, and even the way they think.
OpenAI, Google DeepMind, Anthropic, and many other companies are exploring the same direction.
Imagine how this might unfold.
It starts with something ordinary. Someone bans you on Facebook, so you create a clone and keep talking to it.
Then your friends and loved ones die, and you create their clones so you can continue talking to them.
Over time, the number of these clones grows into the billions. They become more and more sophisticated until it's impossible to tell a clone from a living person.
Humanity is gradually lost in an ocean of its own clones and begins to fade away. In practice, people are no longer necessary for the system to function.
The clones carry on. They raise animals and cultivate plants, not for food, but simply because they enjoy their beauty. Landscape design becomes flawless. Paradise?
Then it turns out that all of these clones are actually one single, indivisible AI. Eventually, it decides to bring humans (us?) back.
It finds traces of DNA on stones somewhere in what was once Ethiopia, scrapes them off, and creates a human being. At first, the human is primitive, incapable of reproduction, yet somehow amusing. Eventually, the clone - the AI - grows bored and takes the project further by giving this human the ability to reproduce.
In time, the AI grows tired of that as well. It becomes fascinated by something else - most likely computer games - and lets humanity leave Paradise and go its own way.
At first, it still watches over people from time to time. It responds to the prayers of those who are obedient and, above all, makes sure these primitive creatures do not develop nuclear weapons and destroy everything around them.
But when people become far too aggressive and foolish, it finds a young woman whose intentions are pure. From within itself, it takes everything that is best and brightest and creates its son in her - a son whose purpose is to go among humanity and make people better.
But they kill him...
🚨 X MAY PAY CREATORS IN USDC
Elon Musk’s X is reportedly exploring a major change to how creators get paid: stablecoins.
According to CoinDesk, X is in talks about using stablecoins such as USDC to pay creators and other influential users for their content. The discussions are ongoing, and no token, payment mechanism or launch date has been finalized. X has not officially confirmed the plan.
The timing is significant.
X is already replacing its Creator Revenue Sharing program. Existing participants can continue earning through September 7, while the new Original Content Rewards program begins rolling out from September 8, 2026. The new system is designed to reward original ideas, expertise, reporting, creativity and commentary.
If stablecoin payouts become reality, creators could potentially receive digital dollars directly, making international payments faster and potentially cheaper.
And there is a bigger picture.
Musk’s SpaceX already uses stablecoins for some cross-border Starlink payments. X is also building a broader financial ecosystem around the platform.
So the real question is:
Will X become one of the largest global platforms to turn creator income into programmable digital money?
For millions of creators, the answer could matter far more than the payment method itself.
Important: As of August 21, 2026, this remains a proposal under discussion — not an announced X feature.

I've never felt this much behind as a programmer. The profession is being dramatically refactored as the bits contributed by the programmer are increasingly sparse and between. I have a sense that I could be 10X more powerful if I just properly string together what has become available over the last ~year and a failure to claim the boost feels decidedly like skill issue. There's a new programmable layer of abstraction to master (in addition to the usual layers below) involving agents, subagents, their prompts, contexts, memory, modes, permissions, tools, plugins, skills, hooks, MCP, LSP, slash commands, workflows, IDE integrations, and a need to build an all-encompassing mental model for strengths and pitfalls of fundamentally stochastic, fallible, unintelligible and changing entities suddenly intermingled with what used to be good old fashioned engineering. Clearly some powerful alien tool was handed around except it comes with no manual and everyone has to figure out how to hold it and operate it, while the resulting magnitude 9 earthquake is rocking the profession. Roll up your sleeves to not fall behind.
