I am always intrigued by the confidence of people who call themselves historians, or pyschologists, or physicists too early in their career as much as I am impressed by the humility of great scholars and contributors who call themselves a mere student of their academic subjects.
@iitroorkee Ayurveda pseudoscience nonsense did not even have a germ theory. IIT Roorkee reduced to this in 2026 is disappointment. The same bioactive compounds are in other cattle urine sources too. Dumdums wasting public money to please the masters in Ministry of Magic.
just because a COMMUNICATION MEDIUM has elements of misinformation, we have decided to shut it down.

doesn't whatsapp has elements of misinformation? doesn't the indian press? what's the reasoning behind shutting down entire telegram?
Hey Rishabh Pant,
Don't listen to Gautam Gambhir.
You're doing fine. You win games for us. You bring joy to us.
He only brings grumpiness & bitterness which he masks as grit and toughness.
So, don't change.
So England got knocked out on Thurs get a charter home today .. West Indies go out last Sunday and are still in Kolkata .. SA in the same position .. That’s where the power is all wrong .. All teams in this situation should be treated the same .. just because you are more powerful at the ICC table shouldn’t count .. #JustSaying
The mythology around China’s rise is becoming as unreal as the cynicism around India’s prospects.
Yes, China rose through discipline, planning and industrial focus. But it also rose inside a global trading system built by the United States, with vast Western investment, technology flows, and privileged access to global markets. No modern power industrialises in isolation.
And this casual sneer at Indians joining the IAS or IRS betrays a shallow understanding of how states actually rise. Strong states require strong institutions. Bureaucracies—when competent—build infrastructure, regulate markets, negotiate trade agreements and manage development. The Chinese state itself is run by one of the most technocratic bureaucracies in the world.
India’s challenge is not that people join public service. It is whether the system rewards excellence, innovation and accountability across government, industry and academia alike.
China did not rise because its engineers avoided public service. It rose because its state and its industry worked in alignment toward national goals.
India’s rise will also depend on that alignment—not on fashionable contempt for its own institutions.
There are pacy bowlers, swing bowlers, yorker-specialist bowlers, variation-specialist bowlers, line and length bowlers, mind bowlers, red-ball bowlers, white-ball bowlers and then there’s Jasprit Bumrah who does it all. Show me a better modern-day bowler, I’ll wait! #INDvENG

Today, Aditya Balasubramanian continues our symposium on @JasonBJackson's *Traders, Speculators, and Captains of Industry.*
Given that Indian firms spend virtually nothing on R&D, he asks, how we should understand the modernity of so-called “modern Indian capitalists”?
Chin up, young lad. You played one of the greatest T20I innings in a semifinal on your debut ICC tournament against the best team in the world.
Jacob Bethell, take a bow 🙌
Irrelevant to warmongers, but many fm IRIS Dena would’ve carried gifts, IFR memorabilia, happy memories from a warm host & half-actioned shopping lists fm Vizag for their families back home — all the way down to the bottom of the sea. Sailors across the world do. War is brutal.
Bro speak about the Indian Ocean stuff. You are Prime Minister. Prime Minister of the greatest country to ever exist. Prime Minister of 1.4 billion people.
Show some spine man.
