The noise level is high in the Museum this morning!
Electric saws are cutting out the wall studs in our former Introductory Video Room. Hammers and crowbars are ripping out old walls creating a much more open and inviting reception area.
Construction started in earnest this morning at the Museum. Work crews from Leipertz Construction arrived bright and early and began removing walls in the video room and putting up metal studs where new drywall will go up in the entranceway. #vaholocaustmuseum
This space, to the right, when you first walk into the Museum, is the video room. On Monday, the walls will come down dramatically opening up the space and forever changing how we greet visitors. Let the demolition begin! We can't wait!
The temporary ADA-compliant ramp is being installed this morning at Virginia Holocaust Museum. Starting on Feb 1st, visitors and guests will enter the Museum through the Choral Synagogue Auditorium doors located at the intersection of 21st Street and East Cary Street.
If you ever needed a reason to invest in Holocaust education...this is it. Please support us in eradicating this kind of poison and hate.
