@grantpaulsen Some famous food personalities have publicly professed their Redskins/Commanders fandom. David Chang of Momofuku fame and Eddie Huang of Fresh Off the Boat and Baohaus fame. Both have DMV roots.
@kevinsheehanDC What would be very intriguing is abolishing the NFC vs AFC format in the Super Bowl. Create a seeded tournament with a March Madness bracket. Any team can meet any other team for all the marbles. A Redskin/Cowboy Super Bowl if the stars align just right.
@kevinsheehanDC You are right about The Expos. The Expos mean little if anything to the vast majority of Nats fans. DC's connection is with old Senators teams. Because that is DC baseball. That's why the name was changed to "Nationals" to link with that history.
@kevinsheehanDC Strasburg’s postseason was great. But, the award is for World Series MVP. He played 2 games. Rendon’s impact was felt in all 7 games. On defense and offense. Clutch in the clutch in multiple instances to overcome deficits.
@kevinsheehanDC Strasburg’s game 6 was outstanding. But, Rendon is MVP. Played lights out defense. Provided timely hits. Most of which were home runs. Nats’ issue was lack of hitting in their losses. Rendon helped resolve those issues in games 6 & 7. Came through at key moments.
@EkinsAdam@MarkZuckerman Carrying the bat almost to first was Soto's way of giving Bregman a taste of his own medicine. And, Bregman deserved it quite frankly.
@kevinsheehanDC Plus, I don't think Callahan is of the mindset to tailor an offense to suit Haskins. Callahan is probably one to think, "We have an offense. And, once you've learned it, then you can play. We're not going to pare it down. That's not how we do things."
@kevinsheehanDC Show after show, you say Haskins should be starting. We know that (for the many reasons you've explained). But, he may never start this season. Because Callahan doesn't want it. Against his old school philosophy of starting a rookie who isn't ready.
@kevinsheehanDC Only a coach with no pressure to win and who is secure in his job would play Haskins now. Otherwise, it's too hard not to play the qb who gives the team the best chance. Callahan, like Jay, doesn't want to experiment with a qb that isn't ready or can't play.
@kevinsheehanDC Callahan is auditioning for the head coaching job, so he wants to win games. Keenum and Colt give him the best chance to do that. So, like Jay, he's reluctant to play Haskins to let him develop. No incentive in that.
@grantpaulsen Since when do you mark the ball down on a sack at the point where initial contact is made rather than where the ball is when the qb is tackled? That was a safety.
@grantpaulsen It's highly unlikely Alex Smith plays again. Even if he heals. I'm sure those close to him have implored him to hang it up. And, given his age, in his heart, he's already "retired." He's just not saying. For the financial reasons that you have already mentioned.
@grantpaulsen Frustrating. Ticky tack holding calls against the Redskins in consecutive weeks. While more blatant holds against the opposition are simply ignored. Hard to win that way.
@TheMoCoShow Parking is a barrier. Many suburban drivers, used to surface parking, just have an aversion to underground garages. Put some "destination" dining spots in RTC. Drivers will put up with the parking hassle to go. Cava, Chik-Fil-A, etc. aren't the answer. Can get those elsewhere.
@TheMoCoShow Do you have any info on when Pike Kitchen, the food hall on Rockville Pike, is going to open? They were supposedly going to open "summer 2018."
@kevinsheehanDC Another factor is the big change over in personnel. Many fans just aren't invested in Alex Smith, Adrian Peterson, Paul Richardson, etc. In the old days, as a fan, you'd follow the same guys for many years. A bond developed. You rooted for same players over time. Now...
@kevinsheehanDC It's a travesty that you aren't on the radio, Kevin. The sports radio market here in DC needs your voice and expertise. WTEM 980 is unlistenable right now. It's just sad, really.
