Good news, everyone

The European Parliament has decided that the government, and large tech companies, are responsible for baby sitting YOUR children.

They have voted to work on legislation which makes social media platforms such as TikTok, X, and Meta (Facebook, Instagram, etc) liable for individuals under the age of 16 to be on their platforms. Hence, they must (in some capacity) perform age verification.

This is great news. I'm sure many of you are excited to present your official government identification to people like Mark Zuckerberg, Elon Musk, or whoever the fuck owns TikTok (Larry Ellison, the Chinese government, I don't know anymore).

The government and large tech companies know what's best for you and your family. Not you.

Hospodářská komora loni prosazovala zavedení povinného členství všech podnikatelů v jejích řadách za úplatu. Poté, co tento (dlouhodobý) nápad @zdenek_zajicek spadl pod stůl, přichází s dalším "nápadem".
Má jít o neveřejný seznam telefonních čísel pro marketingové volání, do které by všichni podnikatelé ukládali informace o svých zákaznících.
A poté by podnikatelé za neupřesněný poplatek komoře tyto informace získávali pro oslovování zákazníků.
Tento návrh obešel Legislativní radu vlády, obešel připomínková místa a je předložen jako poslanecký návrh poslanci Michal Zuna (TOP 09), Aleš Dufek (KDU-ČSL), Josef Flek (STAN) a Jan Hofmann (ODS).
