Two months ago, my accountant came to my office and requested to resign.
He had been working with us for 10 years, so I was surprised.
I asked him, "Why do you want to leave?"
With tears in his eyes, he replied, "My son's condition is very serious. Doctors have given very little hope for his recovery. I want to spend all my time with him."
I asked, "Can you manage your work from home?"
He said, "No sir. Right now, my son needs me more than anything else."
I told him, "Go be with your son. Your position here will remain vacant for you."
But after 10 years of loyalty, I couldn't let him face this battle alone.
So I said, "Don't worry about money. Your salary will continue to be credited to your account. Focus on your son and come back when he recovers."
A month later, he walked into my office carrying a box of sweets.
With tears in his eyes, he said:
"Sir, my son has recovered."
The next day, he rejoined the company.
Then he made an unexpected request:
"Please deduct the salary you paid me. I wasn't working, and I don't feel right keeping it."
We smiled and said:
"No.
That wasn't a salary.
That was our small contribution toward your son's recovery."
Sometimes, a company is not just a workplace.
Sometimes, it's a family.
@abhijit_MLab It was a fantastic session. Devices from your lab can really make our complex models give lucid functional read outs. Really looking forward to get our hands on them.
A welcome ask by the SC, it should get percolated within the system. Thank you Justices.

Dear Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation team,
Thank you for getting the drains cleaned in sector 1 koparkhairane. However, the cleaning drive remains unsuccessful due to the pile of drain dump lying around the pavements at every half a meter across the area.

A Nobel-winning scientist of great modesty and humour, John Gurdon died on 7 October. Not only did he make a discovery that laid the foundations for the field of stem cell research, he also created one of the best environments for research at the Wellcome / CRUK Gurdon Institute. https://t.co/p0NXMM7RmJ
@ChefKunalKapur To me, as a foodie and someone who loves cooking and experimenting, making authentic Bashonti pulav, a sacred bengali pulav, was one NASA mission, and I am proud to say, my space rocket launched well 😁😁
@INCKerala@ChouhanShivraj Like really!! 18 years of MLA and roads like this!!! definitely requires courage to face people though, Kudos to the team!! 🙌🙌

@MagnifyIndia1@IndianTechGuide Most importantly, why mother's!! Natural caregivers etc? What are father's for? Do children not connect with their father's? Do they not need father's?
They told her to stay home. She sailed to Nazi Germany.
They told her to obey. She defied racist science with data.
They told her to stop. She built a legacy that lives on in whispers.
Before feminism had a name, Irawati Karve was living it.
India’s first female anthropologist, she crossed borders—literal and social—to study skulls, decode caste, and dismantle Nazi race theories with fearless science.
