๐ฌ New preprint out!
Thrilled to share our new preprint, where we uncover the molecular diversity and developmental origins of cerebellar astrocytes using multi-omic approaches.

New review alert! ๐จ
Happy to share our latest review on cerebellar glial development.
We critically synthesize the origins and roles of astrocytes, oligodendrocytes, and microglia, with a particular focus on comparing mouse and (sparse) human
data.

๐จ First paper from the Bocchi lab out now in @NatureComms!
We show thatย astrocytes in the cortex arise from not one, butย twoย distinct progenitor lineages, each giving rise to specialized subtypes with distinct roles.

Huge thanks to @LudovicTelley, who introduced me to the magic of single-cell during my time @unil . The work continued @ NICO @unito under the mentorship of Annalisa @BuffoLab, with the brilliant Giacomo Turrini and the support of amazing collaborators. Grateful to all! ๐

We reveal new astrocyte subtypes with distinct functions and show they arise from multiple germinative niches - not just the โclassicโ one!
These origins leave transcriptional traces that, combined with extrinsic cues, shape astrocytesโ final identity.
๐ฎ๐น For the first time, the Italian Glia Network was at the European GLIA Meeting in Marseille! Proud to represent Italian community and interact with all other Eropean and Canadian Glial Networks, sharing science and building future collaborations

On my way back from the @gliameeting in beautiful Marseille ๐คฉ
Amazing days of inspiring science and stunning views!
Grateful for the chance to present my data and connect with glia-lover colleagues!!
@BuffoLab@italianglianet
Come visit the first Joint Glia Networks Booth at #Glia2025 in Marseille!! Learn about European and Canadian Glial networks, join our raffle and connect with your peers!!!
We're excited to share our comprehensive protocol for generating human cerebellar #organoids, addressing the many requests we've received from the scientific community!
Congratulations to @AlexanderAtami1 , @MarcellaBirtele and Negar Hosseini!

The First Italian Glia Network symposium was a great success! Excellent talks and large audience (>100) until the end. Thanks to all partecipants and also for the excellent applicantions that could not be selected this time... but more editions will come. So stay tuned
๐Just out now! ๐
Check out our recent study where we combined #Pupillometry and #WholeBrain cFos mapping to reveal empathy-like networks! ๐ญ
A wonderful collaboration with @raffamazziotti@tpizzorusso !

Asked #ChatGPT to create a conceptual representation of my life based on our past conversations. This is the result! ๐ฅฒ Pretty cool, but I wish I'd been placed at least halfway down that long path! ๐ซฃ
Great success today for the first @italianglianet symposium! More than 100 participants, great selected talks, an amazing plenary session by Valentina Fossati and stimulating discussion. So happy and proud to be part of this growing community of Italian #glialovers! ๐
