@Not_Reflection Honestly, I hate this flashback. I hate it so much that every time I re:watched of Re:Zero, it was the only part I skipped. It feels way too drawn out. Most of it is already explained before it's even shown, through dialogue with Ram. Maybe it's time to give it a second chance.

@AnimeTokki Either way, that doesn't change the fact that she was awake in episode 1 of season 2. And it wasn't a recap. The anime didn't show this in season 1. Basically, it's something like a flashback.

@Screen_Takes 3. I don't think the drama and value of scenes like this should be built exclusively on flashbacks. Outside of the "flashbacks," we also learned that Shaula is in fact capable of lying to and disobeying her "master."

@Screen_Takes 2. If we simplify things the way you do, we'd end up concluding that the Rem and Ram flashback was already told to us in previous episodes through dialogue . The only genuinely new information in the flashbacks is that Rem, in that moment, was glad her sister lost her horn.

@Screen_Takes 1. I don't think the scene where Shaula eats meat is meant to simply show that she's eating meat by herself. As I see it, it shows that she's been "preparing" food for her "master" every day - meaning she's been expecting him to show up any day now, every single day.
