@drantbradley @JoelRenkema I'd go with uninformed, I'd never heard this before. Also, is the 1-2-1 with an adult other than a parent? I think there must be 1 12-22yr old for every 4 adults in my church & I just can't see there being enough capable adults with capacity to provide that level of interaction

It's easier to see the arguments in favour of the position you're currently in, so it's helpful to have an outsider's viewpoint. They may weigh things differently or have different opinions. Hearing from someone who is 'outside' 1/2

@lukeappleton @StefBenstead I think maybe the issue of no-one really knows what is meant by vocation. I'm a mother, but I wouldn't describe it as my/a vocation. So maybe it depends how someone interacts with that element of their life? Ie I can see how a parent might treat that as their vocation

@AmandaHeldOpelt loads of fantastic answers already. It is just so hard to sit with suffering. We want to fix it. I think that's a mix of knowing this isn't how things are meant to be, but perhaps also we want to be mini-saviours

@StefBenstead If the threshold is raised to 18 hours from 16 then presumably also the minimum earning to get gov support for childcare will also go up. 😕

@paulpowlesland Ooh I'm in Manchester, I'd love to plant a Manchester Black Poplar somewhere on my smallholding. We've got a river at the bottom of our fields and an underground stream that pops up at one point so I'm sure I can find suitably wet ground.
