@cboyack Yeah, find it funny from someone who’s been on Capitol Hill for almost 4 decades and hasn’t been able to do anything about this yet. There really isn’t a more worthless member of Congress and the Senate as he’s in both houses. And still accomplish nothing.
Why do the rich have to rob the poor when the poor willingly surrender their money to them? Think about it every time someone is poor and they get their tax refund. A lot of those expenditures not all go to luxury items..
I’ve been to poverty stricken countries overseas, and even the poorest people I saw have cell phones, but when I was a teenager, only rich people could afford them times change
@dqveed Workers unite!!!
I think David missed the point of the post women aren’t lining up or complaining about not getting labor positions like this done by the actual workers.
@Zack_magaig Call me crazy but when I purchased a handgun many many years ago, I had to present ID and go through an FBI background check and the law haven’t gotten easier since then.
@mcsquared34 I’m all for taxing unrealized gains as long as I can claim my stock market losses too. And do the same thing your president did and not pay taxes for half a decade when investments go bad.
Apparently, you left these people off your list and all it took was a simple Grok question:
✅ Many billionaires built their own companies from scratch:
• Jan Koum (WhatsApp): Ukrainian immigrant, janitor/food stamps → sold for $19B
• Sara Blakely (Spanx): $5k savings → bootstrapped billion-dollar empire
• Larry Ellison (Oracle): College dropout → built software giant
• Do Won Chang (Forever 21): Korean immigrant, low-wage jobs → fast-fashion success
• Shahid Khan (Flex-N-Gate): Pakistani dishwasher → auto parts billionaire + Jaguars owner
• Oprah Winfrey: Poverty & hardship → media empire
• Harold Hamm (Continental Resources): Modest roots → oil & gas fortune
• Diane Hendricks (ABC Supply): Co-built major building supplier
Plus many more (Gates, Zuckerberg, etc.). Most Forbes billionaires are self-made through decades of hard work, risk & execution.
@ItsLulu_7 You got a point there because in a socialist economy, there’s nothing for the poverty stricken poor to steal from each other. And they’re never allowed close enough to the socialist elites in the party.
@ewarren Well, you’re so smart Senator Warren why didn’t you write your own AI code and cash in. Oh wait a minute you’ve never created nothing in your life except for dissension between the American people.
The word "projected" is a very subjective word, meaning it hasn’t come to pass yet.
Don’t count your chickens before they hatch.
Maryland in the mid-2000s had some of the same tax philosophies he has, and they ended up with a much larger deficit than what their projected excesses delivered.
So you feel that colleges and higher education institutions should have all their people work for free and just donate their time to educate others. And the buildings of those institutions should be built for free for the betterment of mankind.
And as I said, the reason why college is so expensive is that the government opened it to everyone by making guaranteed student loans. Therefore, this lets the schools drive up the costs astronomically so that only the rich and their selected people can go.
@BladeoftheS So are you mad at the rich people or at the politicians who made this possible and won’t fix it?
As much as I don’t like Trump, he spoke truth to power by telling Hillary in a debate, “I use the loopholes you helped create.” It’s paraphrased but close enough.
Capitalism does not require poverty, but poverty can result from it, unfortunately. In its purest form, it is the exchange of goods and ideas in trade.
No matter how socialist you make the government, there is always an element of capitalism among the citizens, because one will create something others want and will trade for it.
For instance, if everyone in a socialist society is issued one pencil and 10 sheets of paper, and someone with artistic ability draws something the others want, he could ask for more paper and pencils from those who weren’t artistic because what he creates has value in his art. Now one citizen is richer than the others around him because they made him that way. This is capitalism in its purest form.
@omgsidewalks Apparently, you’ve never seen the show Shark Tank, where people pitch to billionaires to help fund their projects.
Contrary to your belief, billionaires are billionaires because they make their money work for them.
I think you have progressives confused with Christians. Progressives only want government (I mean other people's) money to solve other people's problems by funneling it to NGOs and back to themselves.
Historically, the church is the largest benefactor to help the poor outside of the US government.
