@ReturnsJourney there have been players that foster 3PL ecosystem like $BABA. They didn’t internalize logistics like $AMZN. Paradoxically, it mades other competitors entry easy.
I think if $NFLX opens itself to become a platform is a huge red flag.
This will dilute the platform and ruin the customer experience. They have built a walled garden where they fully control the customer experience.
I hate it when I search for a movie on Amazon Prime or Apple, they show it as available, but for an additional price.
If I wanted to rent a movie for $5, I would go back in time to 2004.
I think this could be a Trojan horse of other streamers. What happens when someone with a Netflix subscription realises they mostly watch content on Netflix that is not from Netflix? Why keep the subscription?
They can cancel and go back straight to the source.
I hate the idea of this as a user and would hate it if I were a Netflix investor.
To me, it signals that they have run out of ideas to generate growth.
