This is not fault finding. These are all basic responsibilities that don’t require prior experience, just plain common sense.

So many people tweeted yesterday about Tamil Nadu recording the highest growth rate in merchandise exports, how the state is moving closer to becoming the country’s number two exporter, how we completely dominate electronics exports, and so on.

Yet I don’t recall seeing a single tweet from the Industries Minister on this. Instead, an active political slugfest was underway over her school visit.

Tell me: What does experience have to do with not visiting an industrial accident site? What does being a fresher have to do with failing to celebrate major milestones of her ministry, even when the public actively did so?

If she is not going to work on improving herself, the loss will be borne by Tamil Nadu’s future industrialisation.

Disappointing, to say the least.
