@ConCaracal This is absolutely true. Skills spend needs to be 2% of payroll, regardless of your profitability.
My payroll is R60m a year - imagine having to spend R1.2m on training I don’t need? Who can afford that?? What about all the jobs we’re creating?
Absurd.
@Daiisy119@tumisole The law gives you ample sick leave days. A business cannot be expected to pay you in full if you exceed those limits, which are already excessive by global standards.
@eNCA People think Africa is united, but it is probably the most diverse continent on earth from a culture, language and religious perspective.
The belief that people with the same skin colour think and act the same is ridiculous.
@Swayam_Maharaj@mteton@Cairo_Mathebula Spot on, Swayam. We are a land of incredible opportunity but we need to reform or even scrap some of the blockages to capital investment you've listed above to see meaningful growth that'll bring down our unemployment figures.
Britain had a moment of silence for George Floyd. Our politicians kneeled en masse to show their outrage at his killing. "I can't breathe" became a slogan.
George Floyd died on the other side of the world. He wasn't British.
Henry Nowak *was* British and his treatment by the police was shocking and negligent in the extreme. Yet there is no minute of silence. There is no coordinated public campaign. There is no kneeling at sporting events.
And we all know why.
During the summer of BLM, some people said "All Lives Matter". This was treated as the highest form of racism and anyone who said this was immediately cancelled. Why? Because the people in charge don't actually think all lives matter in the same way.
They have created a racial hierarchy of victimhood where a career criminal who died through mistreatment by police in a foreign country with 0 evidence of racism like George Floyd is automatically sanctified because of the colour of his skin.
And Henry Nowak, a British man, one of ours, is automatically dismissed and ignored because of the colour of his.
This is the ugly fruit of so-called "anti-racism", an obsession with race that has created a two-tier society which treats people differently because of the colour of their skin.
This needs to stop.
@VimleshRajbansi@mteton@Hadoukken_ No one is forcing anyone to draw money fromm their retirement and blaming insurance companies for somehow trying to profit from this voluntary decision is disingenuous.
Do people not have any agency? Is it always someone else's fault?
C'mon. Do better.
@mailandguardian Approx. 4000 people were displaced and resettled to form the KNP. That's one JHB city block, if that, today, to create one of the best known conservation areas in the world.
It ridiculous that we're even having this conversation.
Entitlement is a sickness in this country.
@zwidenyapT You gave it away.
It’s a free market and the people who own those stores now do it better, which is why they’re there and you’re not.
If you can do better, what’s stopping you?
@Dzungie007 Totally. Have you been to any of their countries? I have. Atrocious.
That why they’re here…and illegally.
I have no problem with legal foreigners being here, but respect our laws or leave.
@RediTlhabi Redi, don’t flatter yourself - Elon couldn’t give two shits what you do or say over the internet, or anyone else in SA for that matter.
This tech is helping millions of people around the world and our Govt is choosing to avoid it at our peril.
@GeoAnalist@Martin_ASFL You don’t speak for me. No one is forcing you to use it, but your opinion, however misinformed it is, should not prevent me from making my own choice.
Get it?
