ALTO is a ridiculous proposal to solve a rather simple problem. What we need is a dedicated set of rails for VIA between Toronto and Quebec City. The VIA trains can attain sufficient speed on a good set of rails and there would be no forced stops due to freight having priority on CN tracks. The existing tracks are suitable for relatively slow moving heavy freight trains.
It would cost many times less than the high faluten ALTO system and still provide good travel times. It could also use some of the existing right of way and level crossings.
High speed rail works in small countries like Japan and EU states. We do not need that.
😂 This is comedy gold — but it’s also brutally accurate.
“OHHH CANADA” just dropped a 22-minute parody of Mark Carney’s pre-budget address… and it’s savage.
Carney stands at the podium, completely unable to get to a single point. His own aides are frantically:
•Smacking him on the back like an old Nintendo cartridge
•Blowing on him to “reset”
•Shining flashlights in his eyes
•And yes… a bird literally starts nesting in his hair while he stalls
Meanwhile the CBC anchors are desperately killing time with small talk about their kids and the weather.
This is what happens when the hype meets reality.
After all the throne photos and cult-like praise, the man who was sold as Canada’s brilliant saviour can’t even string together a coherent budget point without a pit crew.
Pure gold. Pure embarrassment.

@GrayMarker99 Did that little Boston fern survive the winter? 😂
We had a trailer in a park for 20 years and enjoyed it as a second home and a social network. I think the social aspect is what we miss most.
The Dunkin of old is not the same as today. They have great coffee and a very pleasant in-store experience.
Tim's is committing slow suicide. Not the great shop it once was and a lot has to do with the staff education. Last year I stopped at a Tim's in Thetford Mines and it was a great experience. The staff were obviously all locals and they clearly loved working there.
@JohnLeePettim13 BOAT: A hole in the water into which I pour money.
Never had the joy of a twin V8 but spent lots of bucks on sailboats with small engines. It was still a hole in the water.
