The most photographed pair of vacant homes in #STL, along St. Louis Avenue in Jeff Vanderlou, have been demolished. Top photo 2018. Bottom photo today.
Doesn't look like demo has started on these great "CITY" buildings on 1900 Olive. Why aren't they being rehabbed? What is planned to replace them?

@TonyInStLouis @Torcho This is on Crittenden at Wisconson. Yes, I would say 1880s. I’m not sure about those 3rd floor dormers -possibly altered. The muntin pattern certainly isn’t original.
@kevinbelford@AndysToysSTL@GrandCenter @Seoulyearth Listed as owned by Five Star Realty Inc. 727 Summer Top Circle, Fenton, MO. This needs to be saved! Can @GrandCenter do anything to push this in the right direction?
@stlunite @TonyInStLouis @VincestlouisV After the tax reform of 1986, DeBaliviere Place West stalled and several buildings sat empty for a decade before being demolished and replaced with new townhouses.
@stlunite @TonyInStLouis @VincestlouisV I don’t believe the neighborhood changed names, but its possible that before the 1970s it was different. There was a development called DeBaliviere Place West along Nina Place, which was a later phase of Leon Strauss’ rehabs to the east.
And now for an extremely @markbyrnes525 yarn about a fiber artist who knits tissue-box replicas of vanished Buffalo architecture. https://t.co/BhqGrZb1i0
