Maybe this reflecting pool debacle is all an elaborate marketing ploy à la the Thunderbolts/The New Avengers billboarding, and the whole thing will fully deteriorate on the 4th of July revealing a beautifully-realized 2,000ft American flag…
@JeweloftheDeise@realDNA5@PokeDailyPost I can’t be the only one who read this in the voice and cadence of the Pokemon “rap” guy from the 90s cartoon, right? It kind of lines up perfectly…
@wmbanks0081@devintoshea One of the characters works for Purina, that’s about it. There was also a “Market Street”, but that’s the lowest bar to leap. “Superstore” did a fair job of, if I recall, of peppering some St. Louis-ness occasionally into its dialogue and visuals.
@Beganovic2026 The *obvious* solution here is a half-mile of pneumatic lift levy walls on each side of the Archgrounds that can be down 80% of the year for primo riverview access. I just need a bar top, an open tab, and a napkin to write on and I can work this plan out over an evening.
@Bishop0051@Cine_vichaar That’s your problem, right there. Dubs for animated foreign language films is fine, but for live-action, you’ve *got* to use subs. Live acting is done with both the body and the voice, and one is lessened without the other. #DarkNetflix
@Beganovic2025 @sarahfenske So exactly what @CityToRiver and every #CityArchRiver finalist strongly recommended 15 years ago!
Here’s my recomm: Remove the I-44 pass through, yes, but rather than just filling it, make it a 2-3 level buried parking garage. That could give you ~150 (?) Arch-adjacent spaces.
@Thando______@fairymelodia My favorite wackadoodle old Earth conspiracy (which I *kind* of wish to be true!) is that of earth trees. Essentially that the various buttes and flat-top mountains we have are actually the petrified stumps of gargantuan ancient trees. 😃
@svedkaghost@UncannyKam No, they’re just going to keep updating this scene as the Gunniverse gets bigger. By Season 6 of Peacemaker, the prior seasons’ recap will show approximately 25 superheroes on screen here.
@bf9777@SamVanivray@jonathanmb32 Nah, Sam Rockwell is putting on such a performance that the excess vibes are covering the rest of them.
(And I’m of the *strong* opinion that Iron Man 3, actually, had RDJ’s best performance in his Tony Stark role)
@NUCLRGOLF Don’t focus on the GIR stat. Or instead, realign your definition of a GIR as “on the green with a chance for Par”. Takes away the pressure of trying to stretch your distance/ability for birdies, and if you’re mostly two-putting you’re clearing 100 with a little room to spare.
@zigzagoonsquad@thegrumweld You’d be right if they’d allow him to be the last person on earth for more than, what, one (?) episode.the pilot was funny emotional and impactful, but as *soon* as addtl cast were introduced it could never capture anywhere near what the very first episode delivered so well.
@Citizens4STL Not an “idea” so much as finally accepting the results of the 2010 City+Arch+River competition! 4 of 5 finalists then recommended this and before *that* there was a local group, City To River, that made the case specifically on the subject of hwy removal: https://t.co/jHZAC5f469
@DiscussingFilm I imagine this will be along the lines of a “John Henry” story where Maverick and his team must prove that manned fighters are still needed above machine/computer-operated drones & planes.
@NUCLRGOLF That’s a 5-wood for me (*maybe* a controlled-swing 3w!), honestly. Irons, I’m too prone to a soft slice, which isn’t a big problem *except* on island greens — the 5W I can get up in the air and straight most of the time.
@RightisRightttt@ElijahSchaffer It’s called “French Toast & Eggs” (2008). Knowing that, wild that he struck the titular line for this off-the-cuff improv and even *more* insane that the director and studio just went ‘cool, book it; next scene!’
@mirandareinert A good dive bar must have:
1. Coin-pay pool table (but regs get the key)
2. Pitchered beer (super cheap for domestic)
3. Bar staff that CANNOT do craft cocktails
4. 3-4 regulars w/ shifty nicknames (Lefty, Patch, Dboz, etc.) or all named, like, Mike or Jim.
5. Occasional potlucks
@MarkMaxwellTV I’m pretty sure the emblem on the front of the desk in the first picture also has it as ‘Repsect’ but can’t quite make it out. Which would mean this has been an unrecognized error for a lot longer!
@whenbatmenfly What’s sticking out to me more is the “major floods causes…” error. Back to the editing bay, team.
Unless this is a covert way of introducing us to a new DC villain named Major Floods. All good, in that case.
