This such abysmal framing when we know JDs do an immeasurable amount of over time that they are not paid for which continues to keep the system afloat. A system kept alive on good will of juniors. It did not have to be announced like this.
Incredibly grateful to be allocated to my second choice deanery of KSS but gutted for my peers who have fallen victim to a PIA system which is unfit for purpose and was dropped on us with little say in the matter!
Huge Loss for Medical Students:
From next years UKFPO applications, students publications, posters, presentations, and leadership roles are no longer taken into account for SFP. This could harm the future #MedEd and will disenfranchise those who have worked hard toward academia!
UKFPO is taking all control away from medical students. First they randomise the normal FP allocation. Now they plan to randomise SFP allocation.
SFP applicants work hard to apply to the regions which suit their academic interests best. This undermines all their work. Ridiculous
Doctors, we pulled out all the stops to avert this round of strikes.
We asked the health secretary to extend our strike mandate for four weeks so we could keep talking in good faith. But she declined, leaving us no choice but to announce a 5-day full walkout from 24-28 Feb.
We had our Peer Teaching Society's first National Conference yesterday. A wonderful day filled with brilliant talks about Med Ed & SFP by @BirksMD@a_c_harvey_b@Nikki_Verma98@JJLim_MedEd and Dr.Olivia Eguiguren Wray. Felt inspired to share my journey with Med Ed @In2MedSchool!
