@menosten@AntoineLMonin@lilifying While not exactly confirmed but implied, if you watch the recent trailer, at around the 11:00 mark you can see the year date of 1449. In 3H, the game starts at 1180.
@IndomitableJamz Well if thats their choice if they want to emulate a game that they like down to nearly 1:1, and if people still enjoy them regardless, who are we to say otherwise what they want?
@IndomitableJamz Then if thats the case then, why aren't they scrutinized so heavily compared to this KH clone? Regardless if they are nearly 1:1 or not, some of those I mentioned are successful games in their own right and are distinct in their own way despite the uniqueness being minor.
@nanao_nanamin Eh his game looks good despite near 1:1. People dont bother with RE Clones such as Alisa, Nightmare of Decay, Tormented Souls, Echoes of the Living, Mute House, and Phase Zero? Hardly people bat an eye on them for sharing the same formula with classic Resident Evil games.
@IndomitableJamz@atompenguins Alright, glad you saw their distinctness. That leaves Nightmare of Decay, Echoes of the Living, Mute House, and Phase Zero. What do you make of them? Are they not much closer to classic RE?
@IndomitableJamz@atompenguins Ok, what did I contradict to your reply? Why does it matter if the RE games and KH games are vastly different games that the argument of clone/rip off dont apply much to RE games? Can you explain more?
@IndomitableJamz@atompenguins With that logic, if an indie dev made an RE game that is identical to the Classic RE games in every way, It gets a pass for being a clone to its original inspiration? The same goes Farming Sim games with people copying Stardew Valley like how Fields of Mystra is doing?
@Marc_Mov If that's how you think, then a vast majority of RE Clones like Alisa, Nightmare of Decay, Echoes of the Living, Mute House, & Phase Zero are guilty of this.
@edge1382@FENTLLC If you say that all of them have distinguish element that set them apart then why not apply that to Luminious Night? it distinguished itself by having an Arabic Night inspired, how come that wasnt a criteria for you to? Some of the RE Clones have nearly 1:1 copy from RE games
@SolofJoshxbox@FENTLLC Well if he wants to make it as close to its original inspiration then all the power to him. I dont see how RE Clones is any different.
@Mandudeguyz@ProdigyxCD And does that make it a bad game? Far from it. Those RE Clone games that were released already have met great success despite replicating the classic RE formula nearly 1:1 while bringing in small things that set it apart that they put in their own game.
@Mandudeguyz@ProdigyxCD Original content can vary differently between games. Almost all games have at least a DNA of another game or a collection of games that they took inspiration/homage of. There are outliers to this ofc but theyre very rare and even if theyre made, some of them fade into obscurity.
@WielderOfLeafs@FENTLLC As impressive Duskfade with its visuals and gameplay, it is made by a much larger team compared to Luminous Night which is made by 1 guy. Ofc, the outcome of both of these projects will be drastically different. It's still impressive that 1 guy developed the game.
