I think @UWaterloo@UWaterlooPres@SEEDWaterloo could do better in thinking of about these issues more and building an institution that is aware of how to really invest in its students and their futures.
After paying my tuition fees, I get $3K left over for the Fall term (4 months long) - which is roughly under a $1K/month to live in Canada. While cost of tuition goes up every term, the salary or funding paid to grad students does not. @UWaterloo@SEEDWaterloo@JustinTrudeau
And this is without factoring in things like family's financial needs or the rising cost of living in Canada - let's not even talk about inflation or the ability to build equity etc. Is it just me or is this a very sad state of affairs for those in academia/research community?
