Also almost no Japanese restaurant or izakaya will give you water unless you specifically ask for it. And even then, the water typically comes in the tiniest of cups.

Also their economy & technological progress was much better off after Americas intervention, albeit the economy is in a bit of a slump currently.

Of course the bombings themselves didn't improve Japan, but America's intervention and continued presence in and around Japan has definitely been a net positive for Japan. Most Japanese welcome America's military as a deterrant
