@DAaronovitch@peterrhague Arrested, but not handcuffed - unlike his victim - and constantly referred to as 'mate' while the victim was patronised while he lay drowning in his own blood.
So no, I won't forgive you.
@mattwridley@MayorofLondon Likewise Matt, 1 Range Rover, 2 Quads & a CanAm nicked from our neighbour’s farm, drove across our land & smashed the field gates on ours getting away. The police told us it’s travellers but ‘little they can do’. Neighbour got the RR back from a lane next to caravan site.
@JackWDart The anger is real with or without Farage, but what this situation needs least is perpetually angry thugs looking for a scrap. That will give the govt & much of the media the opportunity to deflect from the real issue as they did after the Southport riots.
@ZiaYusufUK This is mad. This is evidence based healthcare, there’s an argument that these tests should be available to all men but the facts are that black men are at far higher risk. With this and the Kemi stuff it’s clear Reform are losing the plot.
This is wrong. It doesn't matter who you vote for, but Kemi Badenoch expressly stated that ALL lives matter and it shouldn't be about someone's race. This sort of "attack ad" isn't about facing up to important issues, it's just a lie.
@paullewismoney I assume you’re either joking or so messed up ideologically that you can’t grasp the issue. Imagine a govt spending its time looking for new ways to squeeze productive people and their efforts to pay those who cannot - or more often will not - work.
So hang on, even though George Floyd was nothing to do with Britain, left-wing politicians used his death to push for changes here.
But Nigel Farage talking about Henry Nowak, a Brit who died in Britain is “exploiting it and fuelling division”?
One rule for them it seems.
@grahamwettone You are totally missing the point - probably deliberately.
A man accused of some racially insulting insults (wrongly), handcuffed. Immediately.
A man accused of stabbing someone multiple times? Not handcuffed, treated with kid gloves.
@RogerthePolice You’re completely missing the point - why was he in handcuffs?
If there are 2 potential victims/assailants on scene, 1 of whom is alleging he’s been violently attacked, the other racially abused, why does only the former get handcuffed? Why were his last moments spent like that?
@King0243_PJC In 1979 one third of union members voted for Thatcher. Why? Because they knew the game was up and the system was unsustainable... that's your answer right there.
@KonstantinKisin It's not just about Henry Nowak, it's also about the 3 innocent people killed by Valdo Calocane in Nottingham & the 3 young girls killed by Axel Rudakubana in Southport. They were killed by a blindness to inherent violence in certain sections of society & a two tier system.
@NeilDotObrien Meanwhile a firm I'm involved with - UK based, global business, highly skilled workforce - has failed 2 yrs in a row to obtain a visa for an employee based in Asia to visit for our management event despite having a paid return flight, paid hotel & a letter from us.
James Milner retiring means 2026-27 will be the first English top-flight season since 1956-57 that will not feature a single player who played under Sir Bobby Robson.
