@BrianStraus The white is fairly understandable (it's summer, and America has a tradition of having a white jersey as one of the options).

The endless array of black kits and consistent same-color-shirts-and-shorts combo however... unforgivable.

If they switched, they'd have to compete for eyeballs with NFL, College Football, NBA, and NCAA basketball. Right now they are only competing with MLB for most of the season.
