$VELO: Velo3D at the White House!
"Last week Michelle Sidwell and Matt Karesh visited the White House, along with a select group of US-based manufacturing companies, to share their perspectives on the future of manufacturing in America."
Everybody talking about how stocks performed during the 1st half of the year. I'm talking about how We performed during the first half of the year. What did you do well? What did you do poorly? What can we do better?
There is so much behavioral alpha & people ignore it.
One mistake I made early in my career was averaging down because I didn't want to admit I was wrong.
I'd buy a stock. It would drop.
I'd convince myself it was "cheaper." So I'd buy more.
Then I'd do it again.
Eventually I realized I wasn't building a position. I was building a problem. These days I do the opposite.
I add to positions that are proving me right, not proving me wrong.
I'd rather pay a little more for confirmation than spend months hoping a bad trade comes back.
Hope isn't a strategy. Confirmation is.
As we noted back on June 17, one of the historically weakest times of the year was here.
The S&P 500 is currently down 5 days in a row and lower 7 of 8 days.
Is this really a surprise?
