Over past 15 years, Kyle Busch mellowed & matured so much on & off the track. His talent & tenacity behind the wheel never wavered; but his ability to grasp the bigger picture as a husband, father & role model took center stage. I am heartbroken for Sam & the kids. RIP Rowdy 🏁
I’m heartbroken for my friend Brexton. Over the years, I’ve spent so much time racing around the country with him and his family. I am blessed to have had the chance to race against Kyle and learn from him. Keeping the whole Busch family in my thoughts and prayers.
The first time I saw Kyle Busch in person was in 2002 at Winchester. He was 17 and running ASA for one season.
After watching Kyle send it into turn one in qualifying, I said “That kid is fearless.”
After the race, I said “He’s gonna be REALLY good.”
Rest in peace, Legend.
Regarding tributes proposed by teams, drivers, and others across the industry, Steve O’Donnell said one idea mentioned is potentially including Kyle Busch in the 2027 Hall of Fame class.
O’Donnell added that additional ideas have also been discussed and are being considered for how the industry can continue honoring Kyle Busch, and that NASCAR is working with RCR and the Busch family to ensure everyone is aligned.
NASCAR might consider the idea of putting Kyle Busch in the 2027 Hall of Fame class, alongside Kevin Harvick, Jeff Burton, and Larry Phillips, according to Steve O'Donnell.
An unmistakable racing legacy.
Kyle Busch's accomplishments at The World Center of Racing spanned multiple victories and poles across numerous series. From winning in his first-career DAYTONA start racing in the ARCA Menards Series in 2004 as an 18-year-old to his thrilling NASCAR Cup Series victory in the summer of 2008, his achievements speak to his legendary career. In 2026, he led the field to green for the 68th running of the DAYTONA 500. Kyle also made an appearance in the prestigious Rolex 24 in 2020, driving in the GTD class.
We share in honoring Kyle Busch's remarkable career, on and off the track. Our thoughts are with the Busch family, Richard Childress Racing, and the entire motorsports world.
