'Operation 136' - Cobrapost Sting Operation

One of its undercover reporters, who pretended that he was a pracharak working for a Hindu organization, Srimad Bhagwat Gita Prachar Samiti, offered to managing editors and marketing executives of big media houses millions (and even sometimes billions) of rupees for sponsoring advertisements, events, and advertorials to promote Hindutva.

Some of the most influential executives of the top Media outlets of #India. including Vineet Jain, the managing director of the Times of India, who was offered Rs 500 crores (about 67 million USD) but asked for double that amount, were shown on videos interacting with the Cobrapost reporter.

One of the most horrifying incidents in this Manipur Violence, which has now stretched on for more than a year and a half, occurred on May 3rd, 2023, when the first known death was reported. Pastor Seikholen, a Kuki-Zomi pastor was brutally tortured and hacked to death.

Pastor Seikhohao was not a militant, nor was he involved in any direct confrontation. He was an innocent civilian, leading a simple life of faith. Despite this, a group of Meitei attackers, driven by deep-seated hatred, ruthlessly killed the pastor.

The video of Pastor Seikhohao’s murder was not only recorded but also shared live on Facebook by the Meitei aggressors. This was not just an act of violence; it was psychological warfare, meant to terrorize.

Such actions are not only horrifying but also reveal a deeply disturbing mindset within the Meitei radicals. They showed no hesitation in taking innocent lives, nor did they have any second thoughts about broadcasting their crime live on Facebook for the world to see. This level of ruthlessness where even civilians like Pastor Seikhohao are targeted, makes it clear that there is no room for peaceful coexistence.
