Central Government comes out in support of their ABC Rules and has reiterated their commitment to scientific and humane solutions !!

Street dog management lies with States & ULBs under ABC Rules, 2023. Focus is on humane sterilisation & vaccination, not pounds or relocation

Funds, infra support & anti-rabies vaccines will be provided through central government schemes, to local authorities and AHD hospitals.

This boost from the Central Government will help scale up the ABC program pan India !!

The @DghsIndia, @MoHFW_INDIA has directed state Health Secretaries to record animal bite data more accurately:

1️⃣ Segregate pet vs. street dog bites
2️⃣ Avoid duplicate entries for multiple vaccine doses

Without this, every dose was being reported as a ‘dog bite’, unfairly blaming street dogs and fuelling panic.

Grateful to @MoHFW_INDIA for this vital clarification.
