@itspeterbrown Check out this mischievous quartet who have just completed reading Wild Robot for this year’s Readers’ Cup here in Queensland, Australia. Their verdict? They loved it.
@fran_gibbons@chrisriddell50 Our school library here in Cairns, Australia has had a copy of The Shadow Moth since November last year. I loved following the fantastic adventures of Imogen and Marie.
@slamup Well, I have just read ‘When we say Black Lives Matter’ and it is in my school’s library. What a book Maxine Beneba Clarke. The illustrations, the magic of your words. Brilliant!
Imagine having friends ‘To carry you. To protect you. To fight for you.’ Thank you @mossmontmomery for such delightful characters in your novel “The midnight guardians”.
@fionakshaw our Senior Chapters Book Club met for first discussion today; Outwalkers stirred some lively chat. Students queried no punctuation for direct speech? Great fun here in Cairns - sandwiches, muffins and tea. Hooray for good books. Thanks
So, @nat_amoore your book, 'Secrets of a schoolyard millionaire' has been chosen by the FNQ Readers Cup as one of the books for our students. The students (4 to a team) are meeting via Zoom. Thanks for a great read.
I’m being brave here. I started a twitter account yesterday to join the #AuthorsforFireys auction. With only 3 twitter followers – I'm not sure many will see this but hey, here goes.
The parliament in England has been prorogued. Its hands are tied; the representatives of the people are silenced. The power to prorogue Parliament belongs to the Monarch, on the advice of the Privy Council, but is rarely refused if requested by the prime minister.
@franlhughes There must be someone in Australia who would be willing to have a go at filling @franlhughes shoes for a while. Could do worse than living in beautiful Cairns for a year.
Just reading an advanced uncorrected proof of Nevertell by @KatharineOrton. I am loving it so far and I will be recommending this for our school libraries when it is released in November.
