@YNB It’s an ugly two sided coin of greed and ignorance. The biggest problem is how do you teach those who do not want to know and how do you foster empathy in those who lack it? Schools need to do better without question, however they can only do so much.

The starting point is children now, to a large degree, do not experience the consequences of their actions. Accountability is undermined in the name of expediency. Add unchecked entitlement and voilà.

@krassenstein If we embrace the idea that we all need to contribute to taking care of each other, this is a non-issue. Childless adults invest in the education and well being of children. Society as a whole cares for our elderly. Whatever you choose to create for family is your business.

@BWay124 @krassenstein This conversation is exhausting. 20 years in public education and never have I seen this indoctrination that has so many in an uproar. There are definitely issues with education but that’s not one of them. Volunteer in schools. Talk with actual teachers. Use critical thinking.
