This society just really hates trauma survivors. That’s what I’m getting from this. It’s messed up to tell someone struggling with suicidal ideation that it is better to potentially die than it is to try anti-depressants.

When you work in healthcare you have a tremendous responsibility. Lives are in your hands. Mistakes, misdiagnosis and abuse can maim and kill.

One bad experience can wipe out many good ones.

When you tell a patient nothing is wrong - or accuse them of anxiety - you impair their ability to seek help in the future. You make them distrustful of the medical system. You compound their trauma.

If you don’t know - say so. We will understand. Just don’t blame us /19

@RN_Atheist The infuriating corollary here is that if a woman does spot a red flag before marriage and tries to break it off, she will be told she is overreacting and being unfair and she’ll be pressured to give him a second chance. It’s absolutely a no-win situation.

I understand the mother’s perspective, but leaving Ramona with that man is decidedly not the best decision for Ramona’s sake. She may have to be a single mother for a bit to protect her.
