I have seen quite a few Virgin Active gym’s closing down in Gauteng lately. Why do you think that is…🤔💭

1. The fees are too expensive?

2. Not interested in the long-term contracts, prefer flexibility?

Gyms are extremely difficult to operate successfully and make a profit. I would love to hear your opinion in the comments.

1. DNA may vanish after a certain time period e.g definitely after 72 hours. Some studies even quote 12 hours. Doctors would be hesitant to take a DNA sample after that period.
2. A man can rape without ejaculating into the vagina, in which case finding DNA will be really tough.
3. Most children are actually scared to report rape or sexual assault
a) Because the perpetrator may threaten to do more harm to them if they do. As a result, most of them present after 72 hours when DNA cannot be taken. Again, this doesn't mean they sexual assault didn't occur.
b) Because 80% of sexual assault to children is actually committed by people the children trust and know. So most children will think that what the adult is doing is normal. Until someone tells them that it's not. Again explaining the reason why most children present later than usual. This is also the reason why children will tend to not have any traumatic evidence like bruises or wounds as opposed to adult females who are raped. They don't fight it. There's physiological explanation to this as well (story for another day).
4. The courts will have to examine the totality of the case and make conclusions of guilt or not guilt based on all the evidence available to them. It's not just the DNA that they have to look at.

Please don't spread misinformation. This is a very sensitive and complicated issue. It need to be handles with the care by influential people such as yourselves.
