A Heartfelt Plea from a Small Charity with a Big Heart 💔🐾
In the past few weeks alone, we’ve had to find £13,500 just to keep our doors open and care for the dogs who depend on us. We don’t have a dedicated fundraising team working behind the scenes to apply for grants or rally support – it’s just us, doing everything we can for the dogs who need us most.

The truth is, small charities like ours are struggling, and it’s worrying. We do so much with so little, but we can’t do it alone.
That’s why we are launching a fundraiser tomorrow because our dogs deserve safety, care, and love, no matter what.

Sentencing | 12-week custodial suspended for 12 months; 12-month community order with rehabilitation activity requirement; costs of £500. 10-year ban on keeping equines but can appeal after five years.
The thoroughbred cross, known as Classic Lady, was found collapsed at the notoriously cruel travellers horse fair in June 2023. Field officers from World Horse Welfare, alongside RSPCA Inspectors and welfare officers from other organisations, responded to concerns for the mare. Reports had come in that the skewbald had been witnessed falling down multiple times. Lady was discovered by the welfare team standing up, but very sweaty, breathing heavily and unsteady on her feet. She was suffering from fresh wounds from her fall and when offered water, she quickly drank.
Two specialist equine vets certified her as suffering and placed her into the care of the RSPCA before she was moved to World Horse Welfare’s Penny Farm Rescue and Rehoming Centre in Blackpool. Adam Cummins, Farm Manager at World Horse Welfare’s Penny Farm Rescue and Rehoming Centre: “When Lady first came into Penny Farm, it was clear just how exhausted she was. “She was lame, very underweight and had horrific rubs and open wounds from her harness. Because she was nervous of people, it took a lot of time for her to relax and trust our grooms – as with many of the horses that come into our care, time and patience was key. “With good nutrition, compassionate handling and being turned out in a settled herd, Lady grew in confidence and has a bright future ahead of her. Aspen 😍 one of our new recent arrivals.
He’s just a few years old, super sweet and fairly calm and walks well on a lead. He likes being with other dogs but also seems like he could be ok alone also.
